Castor Oil Salve may be used for chronic inflammation, joint pain, swelling due to lymph stagnation, as well as Uterine Health.

Instructions for Use:

  1. Prepare the Area:
Choose a quiet, comfortable space. Protect clothing or bedding with an old towel or cloth.
  2. Apply the Salve:
Generously massage the salve directly into the area of concern—such as knees, elbows, shoulders, hands, back, or neck.
For Lymphatic support, apply to the abdomen, armpits, or inner thighs.  For Abdominal and Uterine health apply on the abdominal area making sure to cover all the way down to the top of your pubic bone.
  3. Cover with Cotton Flannel:
Place the organic cotton flannel over the area where the salve was applied. This helps hold warmth and allows deeper penetration of the oils.
  4. Apply Gentle Heat:
Place a hand towel over your heating pad or hot water bottle, then place on top of the flannel so you don’t get your heat source oily.
Relax for 30–45 minutes. Breathe deeply and allow your body to receive the benefits.
  5. Aftercare:
You can either wipe off excess salve or allow it to fully absorb.
Store the flannel in a zip lock bag or a glass container in the fridge between uses, and discard after 2-3 months of continuous use.
When to Use Heat:

  • Chronic joint pain (arthritis, stiffness, old injuries)
  • Mild to moderate inflammation with stiffness or tension
  • Swelling due to lymph stagnation or poor circulation
When to Avoid Heat:

  • Acute injury (within 24–48 hours)
  • Joints that are hot, red, or visibly swollen
  • Flare-ups of conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis where tissue is already hot and inflamed
  • Castor oil itself is anti-inflammatory and deeply penetrating. It helps draw out excess fluid, calm inflamed tissue, and promote circulation.
  • Heat enhances absorption of the salve and increases lymphatic flow, which can help reduce the underlying cause of inflammation.
  • However, if an area is acutely swollen, hot, or painful to the touch, applying additional heat may temporarily intensify symptoms.
