MAYAN ABDOMINAL MASSAGE FOR PERIMENOPAUSE AND MENOPAUSE…

Can be highly beneficial for women in any stage by promoting hormonal balance, improving circulation, and supporting overall pelvic and digestive health. Here’s how it helps during this transition:

Hormonal Regulation
  • Enhances blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, supporting endocrine function and the body’s ability to regulate hormones naturally.
  • Supports adrenal and liver function, which play key roles in hormone metabolism, especially as ovarian estrogen production declines.
Pelvic & Uterine Health
  • Encourages proper uterine position, reducing issues like` pelvic congestion, bloating, or lower back discomfort.
  • Relieves tension in the pelvic floor, which can help with symptoms like urinary incontinence or pelvic pain.
  • For women who do not have a uterus, massage helps improve circulation and lymphatic flow in the pelvic area, which can help reduce scar tissue, pain, and inflammation.  Massage aids in  the health and positioning of other pelvic organs, ligaments, and pelvic structures.

HOME SELF CARE
You will be able to take your castor oil pack home with you from your session for your continued use at home.  The castor oil pack will last you two additional uses.  At home you need a hot water bottle or a heating pad, unrefined castor oil.  Follow the directions, in the recommended use guide that will be created based on your specific needs.  Yoni steaming may be done at home as well.  Yoni herbs can be purchased through MyOrangeWellness LINK,  in store,  or you can choose to purchase your herbs at your favorite health store.  You will also need a yoni steaming seat.  There are many types available, some which go directly on a toilet seat, or yoni steam chairs that stand alone by themselves.  Below you will find a link to one of my favorite Health Food stores here in the District of Columbia.

NOTE:  Castor Oil packs are contraindicated during pregnancy.  Yoni steaming may be used AFTER 37+ weeks to help prepare the body for labor.

YONI STEAMS

CASTOR OIL PACKS

WHAT IS A YONI STEAM?

Yoni steaming, also known as vaginal steaming or V-steaming, is an ancient practice used by many cultures to support gynecological health. It involves sitting or kneeling over a warm bowl of herbal-infused steam, allowing the vapors to gently permeate the external vaginal and perineal area.

Benefits of Yoni Steaming
Clients report that regular yoni steaming may help:
  • Reduce menstrual cramps and bloating
  • Shorten or regulate menstrual cycles
  • Support fertility and womb health
  • Improve postpartum recovery
  • Relieve symptoms of perimenopause and menopause
  • Reduce vaginal dryness or discomfort
  • Clear old residue and stagnation from the womb
  • Deepen connection to self and the womb space

WHEN TO STEAM

Best times to steam:
  • Before your period (to help promote a smoother flow)
  • After your period (to clear residual blood and tissue)
  • Postpartum (after bleeding has stopped, to aid healing)
  • Fertility support (during follicular phase—days 6–12 of cycle)
  • Perimenopause/Menopause (once or twice monthly)
Do NOT steam if:
  • You are pregnant or think you might be
  • You are actively bleeding
  • You have an IUD (consult your provider)
  • You have an active infection, open wound, or fever
  • You are within 6 weeks postpartum and still bleeding

WHAT ARE CASTOR OIL PACKS?

Castor oil packs have been used for centuries as a natural therapy to stimulate healing, reduce inflammation, balance reproductive health, and promote lymphatic flow. Combined with the healing properties of organic cotton flannel and, when appropriate, gentle heat, castor oil packs offer a deeply nourishing way to support the body’s natural processes.  Reproductive health, abdominal health, sports injuries,  and joint pain, castor oil is a healing practice that can be used all over the body.

Benefits of Castor Oil Packs:
  • Enhance circulation to the uterus, digestive organs, and lymphatic system
  • Reduce inflammation in tissues, joints, and reproductive organs
  • Support detoxification by improving liver and lymphatic drainage
  • Promote healing of surgical scars and adhesions (e.g., after C-section)
  • Soften scar tissue and reduce the size of fibroids and uterine polyps
  • Regulate hormonal balance and improve menstrual flow (for fertility support)
  • Relieve muscle soreness and joint stiffness
When Heat Should Be Used:
  • Chronic inflammation, muscle tension, or sluggish circulation
  • Uterine health support (fibroids, polyps, fertility)
  • Postnatal scar tissue or abdominal healing (after initial incision healing)
  • Heat increases blood flow, improves absorption of the salve, and amplifies the therapy.
When Heat Should Be Avoided:
  • Acute inflammation (hot, red, painful swelling) — such as fresh injury or flare-ups
  • Active menstruation (can cause excessive bleeding)
  • Immediately after C-section or surgery (wait for complete incision healing)
  • During two-week wait after ovulation when trying to conceive
  • Known infections or undiagnosed abdominal pain
